UPDATE: Fatal Traffic Collision Investigation on I-75 South Near Rocky Creek Road
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on I-75 south near the Rocky Creek Road Exit (160). The collision was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center just before 10:20 p.m. Saturday night.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a collision involving a white Toyota Camry and a burgundy Ford Fusion. According to witnesses, the white Toyota was traveling north in the southbound lane when it stuck the burgundy Ford head-on.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the thirty-eight-year-old male driver of the burgundy Ford, as well as his passengers, a thirty-nine-year-old male, and a forty-year-old female to a local medical facility. The driver and the female passenger are listed in stable condition; the male passenger is currently listed in critical condition.
The driver of the white Toyota was declared deceased on the scene by Deputy Bibb County Coroner Lonnie Miley. She has been identified as twenty-six-year-old Quintoriah Jones, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, her family has been notified.
The southbound lanes on I-75 were closed due to the accident until just after midnight.
This collision is under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

There is HOPE for Macon!
The Kiwanis Club hosted their annual event titled Teen Driving Rodeo where teens ages 15 to 19 spent the day learning about the responsibilities that come with adulthood and becoming a safe, responsible driver.
Participants learned about Georgia’s motor vehicle laws, including Joshua’s Law, while taking part in a variety of hands-on activities designed to prepare them for situations they may encounter on the road.
The day included an emergency response reenactment with the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department, driving courses using golf carts, and parallel-parking instruction with vehicles provided by Riverside Ford. Participants also experienced DUI driving simulations that demonstrated the dangers of impaired driving.
A semi-truck demonstration gave these young drivers a firsthand look at the large blind spots surrounding commercial vehicles, something many new drivers may never have considered. CPR demonstrations and several other educational activities rounded out a full day of learning.
With great weather and so many community partners investing their time and knowledge in our young people, it was a great day to be outside, learning valuable life lessons, and seeing firsthand that there truly is HOPE for the future of Macon.

Aggravated Assault Investigation in Carolyn Crayton Park
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Carolyn Crayton Park. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center just after midnight, Sunday morning.
Deputies responded to the scene to investigate a report of a shooting incident at a large gathering. While enroute to the park, deputies received reports of several victims arriving at a local medical facility in personal vehicles to be treated for injuries sustained from gunshot wounds. Four eighteen-year-old males, five seventeen-year-old males, and two eighteen-year-old females were treated for injuries sustained. According to medical staff, one of the eighteen-year-old males and one of the seventeen-year-old males are in critical condition, all the other victims are in stable condition.
The Criminal Investigation Division is currently working to determine what led to the shooting. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Arrest Made in Aggravated Assault Investigation on Anthony Road
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a shooting incident that occurred at the intersection of Anthony Road and Mercer University Drive. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 8:53 p.m., Wednesday September 23rd.
One of the suspects involved in the incident was identified as twenty-year-old Treyvon Antwan Deshazier. Deshazier was arrested on a warrant by Patrol Deputies on Friday morning and transported to the Criminal Investigation Division for questioning. Deshazier was later transferred to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He is charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Gang Conduct, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Machine Gun. He is currently being held without bond.

Aggravated Assault Investigation on Anthony Road
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the intersection of Anthony Road and Mercer University Drive. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 8:53 p.m., Wednesday evening.
Deputies responded to the scene to investigate a report of a ShotSpotter Alert and reports of shots fired in the area. Once on scene, Deputies began to investigate. It was later reported that five males arrived at local medical facilities by personal vehicle to be treated for injuries sustained from the shooting. A twenty-three-year-old male, twenty-four-year-old male, and three eighteen-year-old males were suffering from a gunshot wound. All victims were treated for injuries sustained. According to medical staff, all victims are listed in stable condition.
The Criminal Investigation Division is currently working to determine what led to the shooting. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
