UPDATE: Arrest Made in Death Investigation on Rocky Creek Road
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with the death investigation on Rocky Creek Road.
The Criminal Investigation Division: Violent Crime Unit identified thirty-eight-year-old Dequais Threatt of Macon as a person of interest in connection to the ongoing death investigation. The McDonough Police department with assistance from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office took Threatt into custody without incident and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force transported him to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. After further investigation, Threatt was arrested in connection with the death of forty-five-year-old Montaego Maxwell Sr. He was then transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Dequais Threatt has been charged with murder and aggravated assault. He is currently being held without bond.
The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with an investigator or contact the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.

UPDATE: Death Investigation on Rocky Creek Road
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred in the 1200 block of Rocky Creek Road. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 5:19 p.m., Wednesday evening.
Deputies responded to the scene to investigate a report of a person shot. When deputies arrived, they discovered a forty-five-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived on scene to treat the victim before transporting him to a medical facility in critical condition. According to medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the medical facility.
The victim has been identified as Montaego Maxwell Sr., Maxwell was declared deceased by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. The Next of Kin has been notified.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division: Violent Crime Unit. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with an investigator or contact the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred in the 1200 block of Rocky Creek Road. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 5:19 p.m., Wednesday evening.
Deputies responded to the scene to investigate a report of a person shot. When deputies arrived, they discovered a forty-five-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived on scene to treat the victim before transporting him to a medical facility in critical condition. According to medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and is now deceased. His identity is being withheld pending notification of the family.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division: Violent Crime Unit. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Arrest made in connection with the Death Investigation on Moseley Ave.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with the death investigation on Moseley Avenue.
The Criminal Investigation Division: Violent Crime Unit identified twenty-year-old Julius Milner of Macon as a person on of interest in connection to the ongoing death investigation. The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force took Milner into custody without incident and transported him to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. After further investigation, Milner was arrested in connection with the deaths of twenty-five-year-old Charleston Burnett, twenty-five-year-old Jordan Gardner, and twenty-six-year-old Willie Cain. He was then transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Julius Milner has been charged with three counts of murder and five counts of aggravated assault. He is currently being held without bond.

Investigation Status Update
Over the past two days Macon has experienced several acts of violence. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are working diligently to solve these cases. Here is a status update of the incidents.
1) February 21, 2026, just before 12:30 a.m., in the 3300 block of Sharon Drive. A male attempted to break into his estranged wife’s home and was shot. His injury is non-life threatening. Davia Lee Evans Jr. was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property and battery family violence.
2) February 21, 2026, at 6:58 p.m., There was a report of a person shot in the 1500 block of Florence Avenue. Victim Shavis Adams was shot, he was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. This incident is currently under investigation.
3) February 21, 2026, at 7:24 p.m. in the 1600 block of North Atwood Drive. It was reported that a 17-year-old male was shot while walking down the street. He was transported to the hospital by private vehicle and is listed in stable condition. This incident is under investigation.
4) February 21, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. , in the 700 block of Key Street. Three victims , a seven-year-old male , 24-year-old male and an 18-year-old male were injured when someone fired shots into the home. The victims were taken to a local hospital and are listed in stable condition. This incident is still under investigation
5) February 22, 2026, at 1:29 a.m. in the 1200 block of Holt Avenue , Shots were fired into a home striking a 17-year-old male. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threating injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
6) February 22, 2026, at 3:35 a.m. near the intersection of Moseley Ave. and Cedar Ave. Three victims , 25yr-old Charleston Burnett, 25yr-old Jordan Gardner, and 26yr-old Willie Cain were shot at this location and were pronounced deceased on scene. This incident is still under investigation.
7) February 22, 2026, just after 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bloomfield Drive and Williamson Road. Two females were injured when someone fired shots into their vehicle as they were attempting to pass another vehicle.
😎 February 22, 2026, just before 3:00pm in the 1300 block of Dewey Street. A female victim was struck by gunfire when someone fired shots into vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition. This incident is still under investigation.
Sheriff David Davis said, ”these incidents have shocked our community. Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Investigators are working relentlessly to bring justice to each victim. Let me be clear — this violence in our community will not be tolerated. We are committed to identifying those responsible and holding them accountable. At the same time, real change requires all of us. I’m asking our citizens to stand together, support the families impacted, and share any information that can help us ensure safety and peace in Macon-Bibb County. We are strongest when we stand together.”
These investigations are ongoing. Additional information will be released on each as soon as it becomes available. At this time neither of these incidents appear to be related.
