The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a third suspect connected to an armed robbery and aggravated assault investigation.

Incident Details

On February 14, 2026, at approximately 11:19 a.m., deputies responded to Sprint Foods located at 3198 Mercer University Drive following reports of shots being fired inside the business.

During the investigation, deputies learned that two suspects attempted to take a firearm from a patron inside the store. During the struggle, the 18-year-old victim was shot. The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s firearm.

The victim was transported to a local medical facility by private vehicle and was later discharged the same day.

Arrests Made

On February 19, 2026, the Criminal Investigation Division’s Violent Crimes Unit, Gang Unit, Special Investigations Unit, along with the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence on Swan Drive.

Investigators took 33-year-old Joshua Jwen Hill and 22-year-old Cecret Brejaneah Bowens into custody.

Cecret Bowens was charged with:

  • Misdemeanor Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers

  • Felony Tampering with Evidence

She was released on bond.

Joshua Hill was charged with:

  • Armed Robbery

  • Aggravated Assault

  • Felony Probation Violation

  • Parole Violation

His bond was denied.
