The times on the signs are for the lowered speed limit of 25mph. By state law it is still a school zone as long as classes are in session. Serious Injuries Involving a Traffic Collision Investigation on Pio Nono Avenue
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic collision that occurred on Pio Nono Avenue near the intersection of Spencer Circle. The accident was called into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 1:09 a.m., Sunday morning.
It was reported that a motorist driving a Honda was travelling north on Pio Nono Avenue. A second motorist was traveling south on Pio Nono Avenue. A head on collision occurred between the vehicles. According to medical staff, the motorist and passenger occupying the Honda, is listed to be critical but stable condition. The second motorist is listed to be in stable condition.
All lanes of traffic on Pio Nono Avenue south bound at the intersection of Spencer Circle were shut down momentarily during the investigation

Asking for the Public’s assistance in locating a Missing Person
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in helping locate a missing person.
On July 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., it was reported by family that 79-year-old Carl Isiah Ford of Macon was missing. He was last seen leaving a store within the 4100 block of Napier Avenue. Ford is five-foot-eleven inches tall and weighs one hundred sixty-five pounds. He has gray hair and a slender build. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes. Ford’s family members stated that he suffers from dementia and appears to have wondered off. Ford does require medication and was reported to have not taken it.
