Four Juveniles Apprehended After Attempting to Flee in a Stolen Vehicle

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies apprehended four juveniles in connection with an aggravated assault investigation and carjacking. Just before 10:30a.m., Bibb Sheriff’s Deputies located a vehicle that was reported to have been stolen during a Carjacking from Villa Avenue that occurred this morning. During that incident, it was reported that two unknown males approached a male, who was working on his white Ford Taurus. One of the males brandished a handgun and demanded that the victim hand over his vehicle. The two males jumped into the Ford Taurus and then sped off. No one was injured during that incident. Deputies put out a Be On the Look Out (BOLO) in reference to this incident and later located the vehicle near the intersection of Bloomfield Road and Eisenhower Parkway.

The driver of the stolen vehicle saw the deputies and attempted to flee by turning into the neighborhood, near the CVS Pharmacy that is located on Bloomfield Road. Deputies stated that two of the occupants were let out of the vehicle on Stallings Drive. A male and female fled the area on foot. The other four other occupants continued through the neighborhood in the stolen vehicle. Deputies briefly lost sight of the vehicle as it fled through the neighborhood, last seen headed towards Macon Tech Drive.
As the driver of the stolen vehicle turned onto the side road that runs next to the Central Georgia Technical College Campus, the deputies spotted the vehicle and attempted to follow. The vehicle traveled towards the rear of the campus. The driver of the stolen vehicle saw that the Deputy was headed in his direction. He turned the vehicle around and then attempted to accelerate passed the deputy. The driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway, and then struck a tree.

All four occupants were apprehended at the scene and transported to the Navicent for minor injuries. All four suspects were juveniles and they are listed in stable condition.

Two of the juveniles were reported to be runaways. Parents of all four juveniles have been contacted by investigators. While at the accident scene, deputies recovered two handguns inside of the vehicle. One of the handguns was reported to have been stolen.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the juvenile driver of the stolen vehicle was also being sought in connection with the aggravated assault of a 16-year-old juvenile that took place Monday, on Third Avenue. It was reported that a 16-year-old Juvenile was shot in the leg and that the suspects involved fled the area in a black colored, four door sedan.

Deputies later recovered a stolen black Toyota Camry in front of an abandoned house that was located on Para Place. The recovered vehicle matched the description given by witnesses of that being involved in the aggravated assault incident on Third Avenue. That vehicle was originally reported stolen from a gas station on Napier Avenue, last Wednesday.
