Justice Department Secures $850,000 Settlement in Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Against Kentucky Landlord and Property Manager
“Women should never feel unsafe in their own homes,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. MEDIA RELEASE: Asking for the Public’s Assistance in Locating Missing Person
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in a missing person investigation. It was reported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office that 75-year-old Douglas Wayne Salyer, of Macon, is missing.
On February 2, 2026, Salyer’s neighbors notified the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office to report Salyer missing after noticing they have not physically seen Salyer themselves in which they believe to be early October 2025. After further investigation it was discovered that Salyer was last seen by social workers at his home located at 1271 South Jackson Springs Road on, August 5, 2025.
Douglas Wayne Salyer is believed to be an endangered adult. A photograph of Salyer is attached to this media release.

Barricaded Subject on Ridgeview Cir.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a barricaded subject in Lake Wildwood.
At 10:16 a.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Civil Service Deputies responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Ridgeview Circle to execute an eviction when shots were heard inside the home. The deputies retreated to their vehicle and notified dispatch of shots fired.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, The Drug Unit, Violent Crimes, Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD), and The Negotiations Division arrived around 10:30 and attempted to begin negotiations.
Negotiators attempted to make contact but no one inside the home responded.
Just after 12:00 p.m., SWAT gained access to the home where they found two adult females both deceased from gunshot wounds and a male with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
It is now believed these were the shots heard by the deputies.
The male subject was transported by ambulance to a local medical facility where he is currently listed in critical condition.
The ages and identities of those involved will be released pending notification of the next of kin.
