On February 2, 2025 around 4:41 P.M., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a call about human remains being locate off of Lower Hartley Bridge Road in a wooded area. Upon the deputy arrival, he met with the person who located the remains.
I requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to lead this investigation. The remains were sent to the G.B.I. Crime Lab.
On March 24, 2025 the remains were identify as Gina Jo Ratliff, 56, of Bibb County.
This is an ongoing investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Is Asking for the Public’s Assistance in Identifying Person of Interest in Aggravated Assault
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a person wanted in connection with an assault.
On March 25, 2025, just after 4:00 pm, an individual sitting in a park was struck in the head near the area of Orange and High Street. The victim was struck while wearing a hood over his head and was unable to see his attacker.
The victim was immediately transported to Atrium-Navicent Health for injuries sustained. He is listed in stable condition.
Anyone in the downtown area that may have witnessed the assault or has video surveillance is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with Sergeant Steven Fields or call the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME. ... See MoreSee Less
