According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at the Burger King located at 3025 Pio Nono Avenue. The attempted robbery was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center just before 10:00 p.m. Monday night.

Investigators say two male suspects entered the business and brandished firearms at employees while demanding money. After failing to obtain any cash, both individuals fled the scene on foot, running in the direction of the nearby Krispy Kreme.

The incident remains under active investigation. Anyone who recognizes the individuals or has information regarding their identities or whereabouts is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME. Last night, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the area of PA John’s Rd. Upon arrival, officers spotted the suspect vehicle. A brief vehicle pursuit ensued, after which the suspect fled the vehicle on foot and was last seen in the area of Grandview Court/Grandview Drive.

Officers will continue to patrol Grandview Drive, Sinclair Dam Road, and the surrounding areas. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Mehki Pettigrew, was last seen wearing a bright green jacket and dark in color pants.
