UPDATE: Arrest made in connection with Death Investigation on Hardwick Drive

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division has made an arrest in connection with the shooting incident that occurred inside the 400 block of Hardwick Drive. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center at 8:50 p.m., on January 16, 2026, Friday evening.

Deputies responded to the scene to investigate a report of a person being shot. Once on scene, Deputies discovered nineteen-year-old Dantwan Wynes unresponsive with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley. A second victim, a nineteen-year-old male was discovered nearby suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to a medical facility for treatment. According to medical staff, the victim is currently listed in critical but stable condition. The next of kin of Dantwan Wynes has been notified.

During the investigation, Violent Crime Investigators were able to identify eighteen-year-old Zay’vion Jackson of Macon as a suspect in connection with the death that occurred on Hardwick Drive. Jackson was transported to Investigations Headquarters by family. After further investigation, Zay’vion Jackson was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Zay’vion Ni Seah Dajour Jackson has been charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery, three counts of Aggravated Assault, and Felony Murder. He is currently being held without bond.

This incident is still under active investigation, pending additional charges. Updates will be provided as they become available.
