Please be aware the WRPD is receiving multiple reports with victims being contacted by individuals claiming they are from their financial institution. These individuals are claiming that there has been a breach in the victim’s bank account. These individuals then request that the victims withdraw all the money from either their checking or savings account and then place the money inside an Uber to be transferred to a safer location within their financial institution.
Banks will never contact you by phone to withdraw your money to have it transported/transferred to another location within the same bank.
If you are contacted by someone asking you to withdraw money, you can contact your local agency to report this information or report it to the Internet Crime Complaint Center - www.ic3.gov. ... See MoreSee Less
