It was reported that a 24-year-old male was found with a gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was in the front yard of the residence. The male was transported to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance where he is listed in critical condition.

No one else was injured during the incident.

The name of the victim will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.

Deputies are currently investigating what led up to the shooting. More information will be given once it becomes available.
