Patrol Deputies Arrest Burglary Suspects

Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a “burglary in progress” in the 900 block of Ponce De Leon Circle at around 10:00a.m. Tuesday morning.

It was reported that a male and female were stealing items from an unattached garage, located in the backyard of the residence. When deputies arrived, they located and detained a female in the front yard of the residence. The homeowner stated that there was also a male in the back yard. Deputies went behind the home and found a male carrying buckets of tools from the garage. The male spotted the deputies and immediately dropped the tools as he attempted to flee the area. The male lead deputies on a foot pursuit through a wooded area, located behind the residence.

A patrol deputy noticed a crawl space under an abandoned house, near where the burglary occurred. The door was missing and the deputy saw fresh signs of where someone had crawled through the opening. The deputy crawled under the house and shined his flashlight. The deputy located the male hiding under the house, behind a foundation support beam. The male was taken into custody.

The male was later identified as 42-year-old Christavius Montez Robinson Sr. He is currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charge of Burglary. Robinson has a bond of $8,450.00.

The female was identified as Robinson’s girlfriend, 22-year-old Tyasia Lachun Mitchell. She is also being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charge of Burglary. Mitchell’s bond is also $8,450.00.

Anyone with information in reference to this incident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
