Homicide Investigation
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that happened in the parking lot of the Advanced Auto Parts, at 3230 Mercer University Drive sometime before 12:35 a.m.
At 12:35 a.m. deputies received a call of a person down in the parking lot of the Advanced Auto Parts, at 3230 Mercer University Drive. Upon arrival deputies located a 51-year-old male subject unresponsive with gunshot wounds to upper body. The victim was transported to the Atrium Navicent Health where he was pronounced deceased by staff. Next of kin has not been notified at this time.
There is no information on the suspect, or what lead up to the incident at this time.
