Fatal Shooting Investigation

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at around 5:18a.m. The incident took place in the 1700 block of Karen Drive.

It was reported that a female was taken to the Coliseum Hospital Emergency Room by vehicle. The Coliseum medical staff contacted the Sheriff’s Office after finding out that she was wounded by a gunshot wound.

The female victim, 38-year-old Tanesha Danielle Thomas, was then transported to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance, due to the seriousness of her gunshot wound.

Thomas was pronounced deceased at around 12:42p.m. According to the Coroner’s Office, the next of kin has been notified.
