Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators responded to the 2300 block of East Pine Hill Drive in reference to a fatal shooting. The incident occurred at around 10:19p.m.

It was reported that a resident, 77-year-old Howard Walker, heard someone attempting to break into his home, through a boarded up window. Walker grabbed his handgun and fired a shot towards the window. It was later discovered that a female had been struck by the bullet, just outside of the window.

Female victim, 53-year-old April Lynn Boyd, was pronounced deceased at the scene, by the Coroner’s Office. The next of kin has been notified by the Coroner’s Office.

This incident is under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
