Media Release Update:
Death Investigation at Macon Mall
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Macon Mall parking lot, located at 3661 Eisenhower Parkway, in reference to a death investigation. The Sheriff’s Office was contacted at around 8:11 a.m.
It was originally reported that 34-year-old, Rashad Curtez Byrd, was found deceased by a person who was walking in the parking lot. The bystander discovered that Byrd was unresponsive and notified the Macon-Bibb 911 Center.
The Bibb County Coroner pronounced Byrd deceased at the scene. The next of kin has been notified.

This incident is under investigation. There are no signs of foul play. The deceased will be sent to the GBI Crime lab so that an autopsy can be conducted.
