Homicide Investigation with Suspect in Custody
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at the Magnolia Court Motel, located in the 4700 block of PioNono Avenue. This portion of the motel is located directly behind the Valero gas station. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 3:15p.m.
Witnesses stated that an altercation occurred between two individuals at the motel. One of the individuals brandished a handgun and shot the other. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene and crossed PioNono Avenue. A description of the suspect was given to responding deputies. The Patrol Deputies located the suspect just after he crossed PioNono Avenue and entered the parking lot of the Magnolia Court Motel. This portion of the motel is on the eastern side of PioNono Avenue. Patrol Deputies apprehended the suspect and also recovered a handgun.
The suspect, 34-year-old Willie Lee Daniel III was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division to be interviewed and then transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Daniel is currently being held , without bond, for the charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and a Probation Violation Superior Court.
The victim of the shooting, 32-year-old Lance Michael Terrell, was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance where was later pronounced deceased. According to Coroner Leon Jones, the next of kin has been notified. .

Commercial Armed Robbery Investigation
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a Commercial Armed Robbery that took place at the Valero gas station, located at 4737 Houston Rd / US 41, just in front of the Magnolia Court Motel. The incident took place at around 12:36a.m.
It was reported that two males approached the gas station. One of the males stayed outside, the second male went into the gas station and brandished a handgun. The second male demanded money from the cash registers. Once he received an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled the store on foot. Both males were last seen running towards Houston Avenue. No one was injured during this incident.
Both men were described as black males, wearing all black clothing.
