Update
Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Person Shot
Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators make an arrest in the shooting investigation of a 69-year-male ,inside of a home in the 7500 block of Bethel Church Road just after 8:30pm.
It was reported that the victim identified as 69-year-old Freddie Lee Battle was involved in an altercation with 60-year-old Christopher Leon Woods, resulting in Woods retrieving a firearm and fatally wounding Battle. Battle was pronounced deceased on scene by the Coroner’s office.
The next of kin has been notified by the Coroner’s Office.
Woods was interviewed by investigators and then transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he was booked on charges of Murder and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Woods is being held without bond.
