Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested And Terminated
On Thursday afternoon Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy Jayson Guidry, who is assigned to the patrol division was arrested and charged with Theft by Taking (Felony) and Violation of Oath of Office.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 30, 2021. It was reported that Deputy Guidry responded to a motor vehicle accident. The driver of vehicle reported he had not received all of his property that was removed from his vehicle by Deputy Guidry.
The incident was investigated by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division and an arrest warrant was signed on Guidry. According to the arrest warrants, Guidry ,while working an accident removed a wallet, cell phone and handgun from the vehicle. He returned the wallet and cell phone to the wife of the driver. When she noticed she had not received her husband’s handgun she asked Guidry about the pistol and he stated, “What pistol”.
After further investigation and a search, the handgun was found inside of Guidry’s patrol vehicle. Warrants were then signed for his arrest. Guidry was then booked into the Bibb County Jail.
Internal Affairs Investigators also conducted an internal investigation on Guidry. He was found to be in violation of the following policies of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office; Code of Ethics, Violation of Rules, Unbecoming Conduct and Conformance to Laws . Guidry was terminated as an employee with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office by Sheriff David Davis Thursday afternoon. Guidry is being held without a bond at this time.
