The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault that took place in the 500 block of Hawkins Street, near the intersection of Candy Street. The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 10:39p.m.

It was reported several shots were fired toward a residence on Hawkins Street. A 10-year-old female was struck in the back during the incident.

When deputies arrived at the residence, they immediately transported the female victim to the Navicent hospital. The female victim is listed to be in stable condition.

This incident is under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
