Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Macon-Bibb County Fire Station, located at 2285 Second Street, after receiving a call that a male had walked up to the fire station with a gunshot wound to his right side. Deputies were dispatched to the Fire station at around 10:13 p.m.

It was reported that 29-year-old Demeatrus Darnell Jackson of Atlanta, was dropped off at the fire station by a friend. After dropping Jackson off at the fire station, the friend left the area before deputies arrived. Jackson stated that he was shot at a residence located on Macon Avenue, but he was unsure of the exact address.

Jackson was transported to the Navicent by ambulance and is reported to be in critical, but stable condition.

Investigators are attempting to locate the exact residence where the incident took place and are also looking into the events surrounding the shooting. This incident is under investigation.
