Update : Homicide Investigation on Dewey Street

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault that was reported to have occurred at the 1200 block of Dewey St.. The incident took place on July 7, 2021 at around 1:07p.m.

According to witnesses, there was an altercation between two individuals. During the altercation, one individual was shot by gun fire.

The wounded male, 19-year-old Marquez Card, was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent for treatment of a gunshot wound. Card later died of his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office at around 3:03 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

According to the Bibb County Coroner’s Office, the next of kin has been notified.

Aggravated Assault Investigation at Dewey Street

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Aggravated Assault incident that was reported to have occurred at the 1200 block of Dewey St. at around 1:07 p.m.

It was reported that there was an altercation between individuals. During the altercation, one individual was shot by gun fire.

The wounded male was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent for treatment of a gunshot wound. He is listed to be in critical condition.

Another male, involved in the shooting, fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No one else was reported injured during this incident.
