Arrest Made In Person Shot Investigation
 
Bibb County Investigators arrested 28-year-old Demetrious John Simmons. It was reported that Simmons was in Tyceanna Brown apartment with his girlfriend washing clothes. Investigators discovered that it was a gun that Simmons had in his possession that was involved in this incident. Simmons was taken into custody by deputies and transported to the criminal investigation office to be interviewed. After the interview Simmons was transported to the Bibb County Law enforcement center and booked on the charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault, and felony murder. Simmons is being held without bond at this time.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Person Shot
Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators are investigating the shooting incident of a 1-year-old child. The incident occurred at Chambers Cove Apartments, located at 204 Chambers Cove Dr, just after 11:00P.M Sunday night.
A call came into the 911 Call Center from the Atrium Health Navicent Hospital about a child being transported by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment. Investigators made contact with the child’s mother,Tyceanna Brown inside the emergency room.
It was reported that Brown allowed friend’s over to her apartment towash clothes. Brown left the room and then heard a single gunshot. She returned to the room to find her 1-year-old son suffering from a single gunshot wound to his upper body. Brown then transported her son to the hospital by car.
The child identified as 1-year-old Monterrious Brown was rushed into emergency surgery but later succumbed to his injuries. The circumstances surrounding this incident is being investigated.
This incident is in the early stages of the investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
