Arrest Made In Aggravated Assault Incident

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 26-year-old Sterling Gerard Holmes Jr.in connection with the Aggravated Assault that occurred in the 3300 block of North Ingle Place just before 7:30pm Sunday evening. It was reported that 26-year-old Jeremy Warren and 25-year-old Ashley Williams arrived at Holmes address so that Williams could pick up her child that she shares with Holmes. During the exchange of the child. Holmes became angry when he realized Williams had Warren in the vehicle with her. Holmes then confronted Warren firing shots that struck him. Warren was transported to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injuries. No one else was injured.

Holmes was taken into custody without incident at the scene. Holmes was transported to Criminal Investigations to be interviewed in reference to his charges. After the interview Holmes was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with Aggravated assault. He is being held without bond.

Warren is listed to be in stable condition.
