Houston County Law Enforcement and Community Leaders Launch Initiative to Combat Family Violence

HOUSTON COUNTY, GA — In a united front against the rising tide of domestic violence, law enforcement leaders and community advocates across Houston County have come together to launch a comprehensive new initiative aimed at preventing and reducing family violence.

Spearheaded by Houston County Sheriff Cullen Talton’s Office, Warner Robins Police Department, Perry Police Department, and key stakeholders including District Attorney William Kendall and Macon Regional Crimestoppers, the initiative underscores a zero-tolerance policy for domestic violence and a renewed commitment to victim support, offender accountability, and public awareness.

“As law enforcement, our job is not only to respond — it’s to educate, to prevent, and to partner with our community to break the cycle of abuse,” said Warner Robins Police Chief Wayne Fisher.

The initiative includes:

  • A powerful new PSA campaign, created in collaboration with Macon Regional Crimestoppers, urging victims and witnesses to “Break the Cycle and Make the Call.”

  • Enhanced support and protection for victims of domestic abuse.

  • Increased training for officers and investigators in handling family violence cases.

  • Stronger partnerships with community organizations to connect families with resources and services.

District Attorney William Kendall emphasized that the goal is not just prosecution, but prevention. “We must give victims the courage to come forward and make sure the system supports them every step of the way,” he said.

Macon Regional Crimestoppers Chairman Warren Selby highlighted the critical role of the public. “Our message is simple: If you see something, say something. Your anonymous tip can save a life.”

The PSA campaign will be distributed to regional media outlets and across social media channels. All citizens are encouraged to share the message and help raise awareness.

To report domestic violence or suspicious activity anonymously, call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME or submit a tip at www.crimestop.us.

Together, we can break the cycle.
