At least one party was transported via ambulance.

When: April 19, 2026 at approximately 5:23 PM

Where:
Greentree Pkwy & Ahwenasa Trail (Lake Wildwood)

Vehicle of Interest:
• Black Dodge Durango
• Model years: Approximately 2014–2020

This vehicle should have visible damage, including:

• Front passenger-side damage

• Missing or damaged front bumper trim

• Missing chrome fog light housing

The driver failed to stop after causing the crash and left the scene.

Ref: Traffic Advisory

On Sunday, May 3, 2026, between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., the Houston County Sheriff’s Office will assist Robins Air Force Base with relocating a C-130 aircraft to the south side of the installation.

This movement will cause significant traffic delays on Georgia Highway 247 between Bargain Road and Industrial Park Boulevard.

Due to the size of the aircraft, periodic closures of both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 247 will occur along the route. The relocation will also affect several intersections. Ignico Drive, Green Street, Watson Boulevard, Martin Luther King Boulevard, and Russell Parkway will be closed to traffic entering Highway 247 during the move. Traffic exiting Robins Air Force Base will also be impacted during the relocation.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible.

We had a great time at Mattie Wells Elementary for Career Day! Lt. Carr, Deputy Dominguez, and Deputy Coley spoke with students about careers in law enforcement and gave them an inside look at our K9 program.
